Yesman is the winner

It is not only Anderson only, but all VIP culprits are ignored and freed from clutches of all laws of land. Flatterers in all offices are invariably promoted and given respectable position. Posting and posting also works as promotion and on the contrary promotion sometimes acts as a demotivator. When all flatterers are holding top post anything can be managed on phone and ministers do not required to come in picture. One telephonic call is enough to make or mar one's career and hence every right or wrong instruction from boss is carried out by juniors easily even at the cost of lives of innocent people or safety, security, unity and integrity or even pride of the nation. This is why that even after lapse of 25 years, culprits of Sikh Riots of 1984 and Bhopal Gas Tragedy of 1984 are still roaming free. None of VIPs who were actually master mind in the greatest scam and scandal could be punished; it may be Bofors case, Chara scam, Ruchika-Rathore case stock scam UTI ghotala, stamp scam or any small case of fraud or misuse of HRD policies perpetuated at low level. It is ironical that good persons are made victim for ill works of bad person, it is the saddest part of Indian administration and Indian politics. When courts are incapable and dishonest, the scope of even justice from judiciary cannot be dreamt of.

It is not the systemic failure but it is the system prevalent in India. In India corrupt person get priority in all fields and honest and devoted workers are shunted out or placed at a critical and difficult place. Extradition of Anderson demanded by few politicians is not going to serve any purpose other than an attempt to befool Indian citizen once again. Political parties are blaming each other but none of them appears to be seriously sympathetic towards the pain of common men. We live in a country which is for rich people, by rich people and of rich people. It is rich man’s democracy

Rich and influential people delay the proceeding of court as much as possible to avoid decision and eliminate witnesses so that the case may become weak and ineffective. CBI more often than not weaken the presentation of the case when they get enough gifts in either cash or in kinds from the culprit or they get enough pressure from heavy weights ruling the country. In all big cases of political scam or administrative corruption or any scandal two and three decades are wasted in judicial proceedings in a very easy way and in a very casual and normal way. Indian courts usually deliver justice after two three decades. As such Bhopal gas judgment does not appear that much astonishing in India.

No doubt foreigners laugh at Indian style of functioning in all sphere and fate of big cases involving VIPs of the country. Such cases are either languishing in courts for last two or three decades or in such cases, actual culprits are acquitted or lightly punished.

Even Law minister shamelessly accepts that the justice is not only delayed but buried. Judgment on Bhopal Gas mishap has made it more crystal clear that any Indian cannot expect justice from Indian court until he has money and muscle power to build pressure on advocates and judges. And persons who are having money and muscle power have the capacity to mould the decision in their favour and unfortunately in such heinous task they get full fledged support from politicians, ministers and administrative bosses. Entire talks of judicial reforms going on in political arena for last two- three decades are nothing but Bakwas and it is politicians who are fully responsible for making mockery of Indian democracy as well as judiciary. Even PM admits the cancer of corruption but fail to eradicate it. President of India prefers to be deaf and dump and think it wise to remain silent spectator of Chirharan of Draupdi (innocent citizen) apparently to respect spirit of the Constitution.

It will not be untrue to say about Indian judicial system, that culprits become very happy when a case is lodged against them in any court. Police may be managed with some difficulty and after heavy payments but courts and even CBI people can be managed comparatively easily and comfortably .Judgments can be manipulated in collusion with advocates or heavy weights comparatively easily and more comfortably. Not only this even ruling political party get rid of public protests and hotshots from angry members of opposition parties once they sanction CBI inquiry or lodge FIR in Thana and lodge case in Indian court against any big criminal act or terror act. After all who is bothered of whether such CBI cases or CBI inquiry eventually proves to be futile exercise.

Chidambram Home Minister

Central government cannot escape its responsibility to handle the problems related to naxalism and save he country from the danger posed by naxalite groups, by anti national forces acting from inside the country. They cannot put blame squarely on state governments saying that naxalism is law and order problem and hence a subject of state government. Only fool can accept the theory of law and order problem cited by Ministers in Central Government or leaders of Congress Party or any other person like Lalu Yadav even after experiencing large scale killing of CRPF and common men in last one month only , that too on one place only and that in Dantewara district in Chattisgarh state. This is happening despite the fact that Chief Minister of Chattishgarh is making all efforts to handle naxalism and extending all support to Central government wholeheartedly. In other states like Bihar, West Bengal, Orissa, Andhra Pradesh and Jharkhand mass killing by naxalites has become common feature and hence accepted by common men as usual incident like road accidents. .

Naxalites have grown in number, in financial strength and accumulated huge arms and ammunitions and now they openly challenge and threat state governments, kill CRPF and police personnel in wholesale number, not to speak of thousands of innocents common men. When naxalites are not worried of central Para military forces, how untrained and unequipped police personnel under the control of state government can control and stop naxalism. It is pity that state government are not able to control even traffic jams or stop large scale money extortion carried out by local goonda elements in small or big towns. Digvijay Singh like mad politician can only blame Raman Singh CM of Chattishgarh to do dirty politics, such person should keep in memory naxal like incidents occurring frequently in Kashmir and also Mumbai terror attack of 1991 and incident of unforgettable 27 -11 and many more fatal attacks which occurred in the past when Congress Party was in rule. I do not want enumerate them to waste the time of readers.

I therefore appeal leaders of ruling party not to treat the problem of naxalism from the view of political advantage r disadvantage. Naxalism has penetrated in many states of the country and presently it poses a bigger threat than terrorism managed by foreign based camps. It is no more a hidden fact that Pakistan based terrorists are using India based naxalites to weaken India’s internal security and demoralize the security forces. It is open secret that even police forces are paying dadagiri tax to naxalites for survival in all naxal affected areas and they are even parting with their arms or even selling arms and ammunitions to naxal groups.
If Indian government even now do not understand the gravity and danger of Maoism or naxalism and delay in launching a sincere war against naxalim to finish it for ever and for rooting it out from every corner of the country, India will have to face the same problem as Sri Lanka faced the problem of LTTE . Ultimately Sri Lanka declared war against LTTE and finished it. India will have to do the same sooner or later, though they may do so after incurring huge loses of human beings and facing the worst position of demoralization, demotivtions and division in armed forces as also revolt from police forces. Common men have undoubtedly lost faith in UPA government and many state governments specially those in states like Jharkhand and West Bengal.

It is proper to mention here that late Indira Gandhi was courageous lady to finish Khalistan Movement though belatedly and it was her this act for the safety of people of India that she was assassinated. But she always considered nation and poor people above party she belonged to. Nation is always bigger than Individual. It will not be an exaggeration to say that present team of politicians could never win the battle of freedom because they are least bothered of common men or safety of the country. Lastly I do not hesitate in appealing all state governments and politicians in general to support present Home Minister Sri P Chidambaram wholeheartedly in fighting Naxalism even by using war weapons or using air strikes.

S L Bansl ED United Bank of India

Government framed policy for posting of bank employees in Villages as also for posting in North Eastern States to promote rural banking and to help development work in rural areas and North Eastern states. But management of banks have always misused this excellent policy to discard non-flatterers and to torture those employees who do not indulge in corrupt practices and who do not implements bad orders of the executives.
RBI or any investigating agency on honest inquiry will find that some officers have been working in villages for two or three decades whereas flatterers of the top officials of the management have been allowed to work in Metros for decades together. When an officer do not provide gifts to General Manager, he is posted in North Eastern States on the plea of Non Performance whereas those who commit fraud or indulge in irregular credits but always provide golden gifts to GMs, DGMs, AGMs in the name of some function either of inauguration or customer’s meeting are allowed to remain in big towns.
Some officers are simply creating bad advances and some others are constrained to recover the bad advances merely to save the corrupt officers from punishment. This is why loans or advances become Sub Standard in one or two years of its disbursement. It is also a bitter fact that such bad advances are concealed by gifting Auditors and inspectors and treated as good advances till the sanctioning officer wither is promoted or get safe exit from the bank. Honest workers are made scapegoat for the misdeeds of big executives.. It is undeniably truth that excellent results exhibited through annual balance sheets are due to devoted work of good performers and it is they who are salvaging banks from the misdeeds of bad officers. As such shining balance sheet of a bank should not give conclusion that the results shown are hard work of top officials sitting in AC rooms but that of field workers who are head of a branch and who is doing hard worker even under acute manpower shortage. In banks manpower is adequately provided only to flatterers even if he has caused banks crores of rupees. Until RBI or CBI catch hold of corrupt executives and punish the evil performers and at the same time award those officers who have been whimsically kept away from promotions and unless good officers are given respectable posting and promotions one cannot imagine of any rise in intrinsic value of any bank
On the contrary PSU banks are facing erosion in intrinsic value due to dirty implementation of apparently good HRD policies. In the name of Interview any employee can be deprived of and denied of promotion. Power makes executive corrupt if the decisions made by them are not transparent and subject to review. Root cause of persistence and promotion of such corrupt officers is due to the bitter fact that even courts fail to provide justice in decades together and this is why management bosses indulge in whimsical promotions, arbitrary transfers and postings.
I request bank officers to send their personal experience and story of corrupt officers to me at dkjain49709@rediffmail.com so that such illustration may be incorporated in PIL to be filed in the court. These information will be helpful in seeking information from bank under Right to Information Act to expose the true colour of officers who have been holding top posts in the bank and who have been getting continuous shelter from Banking division, RBI and Ministry of Finance. The aggrieved officer may also send the real story about them, how they have been cheated by their bosses, how they have been denied promotion and how they have been given always critical posting. After all how long you will bear with injustice in fear of repercussion from higher authorities. One has to come out of imaginary fear and expose the true picture of bad officers. How long meritorious and talented officer will face humiliation and posting against their dignity.
I will come with name of AGM,DGM ,GM,CM and BM and tell the officer community and Government of India how reign of injustice prevails in the banking industry. I need your cooperation in making a strong case against some of CMDs who are recognized as star performers but under the shelter of such CMDs ,their left and right hand officers who themselves are facing CBI charge sheets are exploiting power for self interest.

Reserve Bank of India

Government has asked now PSU banks to target urban cooperative banks and advised them to takeover sinking banks. I am unable to understand RBI works as an advisor to keep a man healthy or a doctor to diagnose ailing bank or simply a doctor to conduct post Mortem report of a dead body and submit report. It will not be an exaggeration to say that government in general works like a doctor to submit post mortem report of all dead bodies like scams, terror attacks, fraud ,scandals and forget.

RBI and other regulators first allow banks to loot the money, extend reckless credits, spoil the internal culture and intrinsic value of the bank, promote corruption in credit and Human Resource Management, waiver of loan and so on and in the next phase recommends for infusion of capital to salvage the bank and lastly recommends other big banks to takeover sinking bank.

Some times cooperative banks become out of control and some times some Regional Rural banks or some other time some PSU or private bank. In the past several cooperative banks have closed their shutters. Many Private Banks have been forcibly merged with PSU banks like Punjab National Bank or Union Bank or Bank of India. Even there was a proposal to merge banks like United Bank or U Co bank or Indian Bank.

Government has in the past provided capital as oxygen from time to time to various sinking or weak banks .Even in the last month government has passed a bill to provide Rs15000/ capital infusion to weak banks. But unfortunately it never tries to strike at the root of unhealthy culture and stop political intervention. Inspite of preaching all sermons NPA in banks has been rising speedily though it is concealed at the behest of RBI or Government of India.

The great question arises why and how does RBI fail to nip in the bud and why does it not punish the person who caused and perpetuated corrupt line of action in all fields. Why does it fail to break nexus of politicians in spread of corrupt culture in credit delivery prevailing all over the country in almost all banks? Why does it not punish the chartered Accountants who more often than not sell their signature and blindly certify balance sheets? How a rating agency fails to identify bad banks and alert the regulators in time?

Money alloted for poor eaten away by Rich

It is not surprising that rich people are grabbing houses meant for poor. As a matter of fact all subsidies, aids, lands etc are grabbed by rich person in the area, politicians, middlemen and poor get a slice of the cake as a sympathetic contribution. Even good quality wheat and rice meant for distribution to ration card holders are bought by traders and sold in the market. Only rotten quality wheat which is not saleable in open markets are distributed through Fair price shops. Gas cylinders sold by Gas agencies at subsidized rates are mostly used by hotels owners, shop keepers, guest houses, wedding houses, factories, houses of middle class and rich class etc. Rural people or poor people cannot even dream of buying a gas cylinder. Government is selling Kerosene oil at very cheap rate and incurs huge loss due to this subsidized sale. But here also 80%of kerosene oil is bought by traders and sold in black market or bought by petrol and diesel dealers for adulteration in petrol and diesel.

Even schools free meals meant to attract poor students are eaten by teachers or sold to traders. Only a part of free meal which is rotten and of mean quality is served to enrolled students. Everyone knows very well how middlemen and politicians are looting fund under NREGA. Even then our clean Prime Minister claim of good governance and at least everyday he talks of GDP growth which he means to say Gross Domestic Product but actually for poor and rural people it is Garibi Development Project.

Government knows very well that fund given for development and poverty alleviation is mostly grabbed by middlemen, political leaders, and babus in government offices. All types of Construction work including Indira Awas construction carried out by government agencies involves distribution of illegal money in the shape of commission to dealing officers , monitoring agencies and politicians. Contractors cannot survive and cannot become wealthy person until he distributes at least 50% of contract amount among corrupt persons sitting in the administration and political workers called as dadagiri tax..
This is unending sad story of Indians and Indian administrations , more specially of Indian politicians and babus.

Pratibha Patil

Why is the media here so negative?

Why are we in India so embarrassed to recognize our own strengths, our achievements?

We are such a great nation. We have so many amazing success stories but we refuse to acknowledge them.
Why do we ignore them?

We are the first in milk production.
We are number one in Remote sensing satellites.
We are the second largest producer of wheat.
We are the second largest producer of rice.
Look at Dr. Sudarshan; he has transferred the tribal village into a self-sustaining, self-driving unit. There are millions of such achievements but our media is only obsessed in the bad news and failures and disasters.

I was in Tel Aviv once and I was reading the Israeli newspaper. It was the day after a lot of attacks and bombardments and deaths had taken place. The Hamas had struck. But the front page of the newspaper had the picture of a Jewish gentleman who in five years had transformed his desert into an orchid and a granary. It was this inspiring picture that everyone woke up to. The gory details of killings, bombardments, deaths, were inside in the newspaper, buried among other news.

In India we only read about death, sickness, terrorism, crime. Why are we so NEGATIVE? Another question: Why are we, as a nation so obsessed with foreign things? We want foreign T.Vs, we want foreign shirts. We want foreign technology.
Why this obsession with everything imported. Do we not realize that self-respect comes with self-reliance? I was in Hyderabad giving this lecture, when a 14 year old girl asked me for my autograph. I asked her what her goal in life is.
She replied: I want to live in a developed India. For her, you and I will have to build this developed India. You must proclaim. India is not an under-developed nation; it is a highly developed nation.

Do you have 10 minutes? Allow me to come back with a vengeance.
Got 10 minutes for your country? If yes, then read; otherwise, choice is yours.

YOU say that our government is inefficient.
YOU say that our laws are too old.
YOU say that the municipality does not pick up the garbage.
YOU say that the phones don't work, the railways are a joke. The airline is the worst in the world, mails never reach their destination.
YOU say that our country has been fed to the dogs and is the absolute pits.
YOU say, say and say. What do YOU do about it?
Take a person on his way to Singapore. Give him a name - 'YOURS'. Give him a face - 'YOURS'. YOU walk out of the airport and you are at your International best. In Singapore you don't throw cigarette butts on the roads or eat in the stores. YOU are as proud of their Underground links as they are.. You pay $5 (approx. Rs. 60) to drive through Orchard Road (equivalent of Mahim Causeway or Pedder Road) between 5 PM and 8 PM. YOU come back to the parking lot to punch your parking ticket if you have over stayed in a restaurant or a shopping mall irrespective of your status identity… In Singapore you don't say anything, DO YOU?
YOU wouldn't dare to eat in public during Ramadan, in Dubai. YOU would not dare to go out without your head covered in Jeddah.

YOU would not dare to buy an employee of the telephone exchange in London at 10 pounds (Rs.650) a month to, 'see to it that my STD and ISD calls are billed to someone else.’
YOU would not dare to speed beyond 55 mph (88 km/h) in Washington and then tell the traffic cop, 'Jaanta hai main kaun hoon (Do you know who I am?). I am so and so's son. Take your two bucks and get lost.'
YOU wouldn't chuck an empty coconut shell anywhere other than the garbage pail on the beaches in Australia and New Zealand.

Why don't YOU spit Paan on the streets of Tokyo ?
Why don't YOU use examination jockeys or buy fake certificates in Boston???
We are still talking of the same YOU. YOU who can respect and conform to a foreign system in other countries but cannot in your own. You who will throw papers and cigarettes on the road the moment you touch Indian ground. If you can be an involved and appreciative citizen in an alien country, why cannot you be the same here in India?

In America every dog owner has to clean up after his pet has done the job. Same in Japan.

Will the Indian citizen do that here?'
He's right. We go to the polls to choose a government and after that forfeit all responsibility.

We sit back wanting to be pampered and expect the government to do everything for us whilst our contribution is totally negative.
We expect the government to clean up but we are not going to stop chucking garbage all over the place nor are we going to stop to pick a up a stray piece of paper and throw it in the bin.
We expect the railways to provide clean bathrooms but we are not going to learn the proper use of bathrooms.

We want Indian Airlines and Air India to provide the best of food and toiletries but we are not going to stop pilfering at the least opportunity.

This applies even to the staffs who are known not to pass on the service to the public.
When it comes to burning social issues like those related to women, dowry, girl child! and others, we make loud drawing room protestations and continue to do the reverse at home. Our excuse?

'It's the whole system which has to change, how will it matter if I alone forego my sons' rights to a dowry.' So who's going to change the system?

What does a system consist of?
Very conveniently for us it consists of our neighbors, other households, other cities, other communities and the government. But definitely not me and YOU. When it comes to us actually making a positive contribution to the system we lock ourselves along with our families into a safe cocoon and look into the distance at countries far away and wait for a Mr.Clean to come along & work miracles for us with a majestic sweep of his hand or we leave the country and run away.

Like lazy cowards hounded by our fears we run to America to bask in their glory and praise their system. When New York becomes insecure we run to England. When England experiences unemployment, we take the next flight out to the Gulf. When the Gulf is war struck, we demand to be rescued and brought home by the Indian government. Everybody is out to abuse and rape the country. Nobody thinks of feeding the system. Our conscience is mortgaged to money.
Dear Indians, The article is highly thought inductive, calls for a great deal of introspection and pricks one's conscience too…. I am echoing J. F. Kennedy's words to his fellow Americans to relate to Indians…..
'ASK WHAT WE CAN DO FOR INDIA AND DO WHAT HAS TO BE DONE TO MAKE INDIA WHAT AMERICA AND OTHER WESTERN COUNTRIES ARE TODAY'

Let us do what India needs from us.
Thank you,
Dr.. Abdul Kalam

Pan India banks

I think Finance Minister, heads of banks,IBA and others who are asking for more and more banks have ignored the bitter experience banks faced when they opened numerous branches in order to implement Service Area Approach introduced in 1976 with a motto to make bank accessible in all villages having a population of 10000. Accelerated expansion of banking network took place from 76 to 96 and banks realized that many branches turned unviable and unsustainable. They converted many branches into satellite branches or shifted their location or finally closed the same. Banks are committing the same blunder by opting for unmanageable expansion of their network to increase the business. To add fuel to fire Finance Minister or RBI are advising for opening of more and more banks , local banks or PAN India banks.

What is the utility of bank in villages when they have got no money to park with? Villagers are starving and begging. There is no water, no electricity , no opportunity for getting job, no good school, no good hospital for medical care, no arrangement for proper security and no infrastructure in most of the villages , but there will a bank perhaps for delivery of various aids and subsidies to be directly delivered in the hands of villages through No Frill Accounts . Common men are crying for bread to eat and cloth to bear. Wherefrom will they bring money to bank with. They need money and not only no frill accounts for which RBI has been crying since long.

If Government feel that network of 65000 branches (including PSU banks, private banks, rural banks, cooperative banks, foreign banks) is not enough, they should convert all post offices numbering more than a lac in India into bank instead of opting for more and more local banks or pan India banks proposed by Finance Minister . Post officers are already in process of technological up gradation. When post offices in India become active on CBS platform , they will be able to start banking with comfort and they are available in all nook and corners of the country and they covers most of the villages in the country.

There is no need of opening new banks, there is rather need to consolidate the existing banks, post offices, on banking financial companies, insurance companies, share broking companies and financial institutions. There is urgent need to stop irregularities, mal practices, corruption and fraudulent activities prevalent in these institutes. . There is need to punish those companies who are swindling away money of poor people in villages by promising exorbitant interest. There is needed to make existing banks more active, efficient and honest. Numerous non banking finance companies are working in almost all towns to cheat money from common men and fly away in short span of time .RBI needs to stop such rape of common men.

In brief I can say that existing financial system is almost beyond the control of RBI and there is large scale cheating going on in the country. When media unearth any story of cheating by bank or NBCC, RBI or government of India comes into action that too for a day or two, institutes a committee to look into it and then forget. This is the painful story of RBI monitoring or that of government control.

This is why we frequently comes across incident of NBCC or cooperative bank or rural banks shutting their door or the head of such financial companies absconding from the town leaving behind thousands of investors weeping and crying

Biased transfer must stop in Banks

• Why officers and employees are not transferred out from the Mumbai, Kolkata, Delhi, Bangalore, Chennai etc. and on the contrary employees of states like Orrisa, Bihar, and Jharkhand are frequently transferred out of their states even violating transfer policies?

• Why some officers are always given rural posting whereas some other officers are even promoted without rural posting violating government guidelines in this regard?

• Why some officers are allowed to work in their Metro towns for decades whereas officers of other small towns and villages are to change their place of working every year or alternate year without any incentive or compensation?

• Is there no punishment for those executives who indulge in corrupt practices and resort to whimsical transfers to keep away all employees who may prove hurdle in their money making process?

• Why RBI remains silent spectator of ill-motivated CEOs of banks and allows the malady in banks to accumulate?

• It is worthwhile to mention here that unhappy lot of employees cannot think for and make efforts to keep bank healthy?

• Is human resource not capital in real sense in Banking Industry and for some VIP CEOs of Bank?
